Organic Abstract Paintings

Pertaining to the shapes or forms in a work of art that are of irregular contour and seem to resemble or suggest forms found in nature. It is also natural and living form. Organic shapes and forms are typically irregular or asymmetrical. Organic shapes are often found in nature, but man-made shapes can also imitate organic forms. Repeated shapes and forms also create patterns. Organic forms such as snow-covered boulders typically are irregular in outline, and often asymmetrical.

Organic forms are most often thought of as naturally taking place. “Looking Up” by Jason York is one example of Organic Art since it defies as natural or a living form subject. The artist’s intention is not to preserve a subject’s image for posterity, but rather to give expression to the abstract artist’s inner self.
